Our Letter to You

Hello Friends!
We are so excited that you are taking the time to get to know us and we hope to get to know you better, too. Although we cannot begin to understand what you are going through, we pray that you will feel an extra measure of comfort and love as you make this decision. We admire your decision to choose adoption and we hope that we can help fulfill your desire to find a loving family for your child.

Shane and I met in 2005 in a fast food restaurant while in college. Shane swears I was out of his league and was so nervous when he asked me out on our first date. He was even shocked that I said yes, but our conversation came easily and we became immediate friends. We were married a few months later. We have been married now for almost eight years. We love to talk and we love to laugh. Shane promised me when we first started dating that he would make me laugh every day and he has held true to that promise. Most of all, we love to be together. Our most favorite thing to do together is curl up on the couch with popcorn and a great movie; we have a few favorites on rotation, just in case. We are also huge college football fans.

A Little About Each of Us
Shane is all boy, and a kid at heart. He knows when to be serious, but he’s not afraid to have a little fun. He is a huge sports fan, especially college. Although he would much rather attend the event live because nothing beats the tailgating and the fans, he also loves to watch them on TV. He likes action movies, Star Wars, and Sci-Fi, but together we cannot get enough of Harry Potter. He has a sweet tooth, especially when it comes to chocolate and absolutely loves ice cream. He loves cars, from working on them, reading about them, test driving them, or fixing and maintaining them. He has a knack for car detailing! He enjoys playing video games in his free time. He also loves thunderstorms, fires, grilling on the BBQ in rain or shine, and music.

Brittnee is so forgiving, patient, loving, gentle, inventive, smart, and the funniest woman I have ever met. I feel so lucky to have married her. She has so many passions and is always trying to learn and do more. She loves to make jewelry, sew, scrapbook, decorate our home, snap photos with her camera and especially read a great book. My favorite thing about Brittnee is the way she loves to talk. She gets so excited and animated, speaking so fast. She is very easy to get to know and she makes fast friends. She loves to play the piano in her free time and always has background music on. The one thing she looks forward to, more than anything, is being a stay-at-home mom.

Our main goal as a family is to ensure that everyone knows they are loved unconditionally. We want our children to be strong and happy. We want them to develop and share their talents with others. Most of all, we never want them to forget who they are and where they came from.
Why We Want to Adopt
In Shane’s words

It was very hard learning that we could not have children. Adoption entered our hearts and I realized that it was a way for me to become the father I have always wanted and dreamed I would be. I want to be just like my father. I want my children to come running to the door when I walk in. I want to hug them and try and take in all that they have to say about how their day went. I want to sit down and help them with their homework. Mostly, I long to have the kind of family we both grew up in. Because of the relationships we have with our families, we have always looked forward to having one of our own. We are so grateful for the opportunity to be able to realize our dreams. We want to be able to love a little one. We want to be able to hold them in our arms, watch them grow, laugh with them, and teach them. We want our home filled with laughter and silliness, creating great memories with each child we are blessed with.

Thank you for taking the time to get to know us. We pray for your peace, strength, and comfort.

With Love and Gratitude,

Shane and Brittnee
